How Microsoft Selfie Enhances Your Selfies
Microsoft Selfie is like Instagram for selfies, but instead of allowing you to crop and filter your photos, it'll make them look better. The free-to-download app takes a variety of factors into consideration including age, gender and skin tone when enhancing the photo, automatically adjusting things like exposure and noise reduction as well as smoothing the face, all in just one tap.
The app is a bit heavy on the airbrushing, but it does give you control over how much or little you want to do. And it works with all of your existing photos in the camera roll as well as stuff you shoot on the fly. You can also quickly view a preview of the final image without all the edits to see how you feel before saving it.
While it's pretty simple and doesn't really offer anything unique, it does the job it was designed to do pretty well. It's a great alternative to apps like Facetune for iOS, which can be a bit pricey. And since the app is owned by Microsoft, there's little doubt that it will keep getting updates and bug fixes. The only real negative is that the app often crashes while you're using it, which is frustrating and annoying. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.
